- reflection: This course, we mainly focus on the relationship between place, space and ourselves. I have learned different rhetoric methods of expressing my thoughts, such as visual-based and text-based genres. Instead of describing the thoughts directly, these implicit ways dramatize the contents and attract more audience to engage into our writings. Besides, for each assignment, we create drafts, proposals, different versions of writings to develop our written ability, and we also learn a lot of advice from this process. Furthermore, we also cultivate the sense of critical thing for this semester, and we analyze place, space and ourselves from different aspects. From recalling our life, we observe many details that we used to ignore in the past.
- Self-evaluation: I believe that I make rapid progress through this semester. For example, for visual-based memoir, I did not know how to take good photos at first. However, I did not give up improving them when I received the feedbacks for the version one assignment. I tried different ways to figure out “non-literal” photos, and at last I am satisfied with my photos. These are really abstract and fantastic, and I really enjoy the process of creating them. Furthermore, I also make different appointments with my professor and tutors to control over language and punctuation, and I believe my writing skill has developed.
